You are finished with your past event, and are ready to open the next event? We cover the processes and changes here that are connected with the changeover from a single event to a multi-event site, with 1 event running at a time.
To prepare to open your 2024 event, please make sure all your data on the 2023 event is complete.
What can you be doing before opening your 2024 Show for Entries and Trade Stand Applications?
(Links in blue are to the Help Site - please follow to best update your website)
-
Update Web Pages in the CMS and any Management settings can be updated at any time, as many of you have done already.
-
Have you got your 2024 Show date? Add it to the top banner
-
Make sure that you have no text references to last year’s show info on regular pages, as that is now dated information. News items are still useful to keep visible year after year.
-
Hide pages that are not currently relevant to the current show period (eg. What's On, Travel, Enter Competitions, Apply for a Trade Stand)
-
-
Change your Homepage slider image to your best image of last year's show
Reports can still be run from past event once it is finished, and you can still view all of the information from your last event.
Once the next update is released, you should allow time to familiarise yourself with the new features and run through the full show process with all the latest updates that are available.
These are all currently available on your staging website. Reminder; changes on your staging website will not reflect on your live site.
IMPORTANT REGARDING ‘Finishing’ an Event.
- Once a show is marked as 'finished', you cannot edit the past entries or applications, classes, or category information associated with the finished event.
- The classes, categories, prizes, trade settings, sponsors, judges, and business types can be copied across to your next event, BEFORE ‘finishing’ the last event, to create the new event.
- All Web Pages will stay the same when marking an event as 'finished'.
When you are ready to prepare your 2024 event, and open applications,
we recommend that you run a full test event on your staging site
so that you see all of the changes that are in place since your last show.
Watch the Training Webinar, follow the steps (follow the order of the steps most importantly), and enjoy.
